Bathroom Renovation-Basement

We are so happy with our basement bathroom reno! Steve always searched for ways to improve on the plans to create space in this small project. His work is meticulous and we appreciated how he would check in regarding product availability & pricing. We had continuous progress updates and he kept us in the loop if item deliveries were delayed.

We look forward to working with him again!

Renovate Two-Storey Apartment in House

Steve has just completed a fairly extensive renovation of a two-storey apartment in our house. It included bathroom, kitchen, hvac, drywall, staircase, flooring, doors, trim, paint and lighting installation (I'm sure there's more I've missed). I have to say that it was a pleasure working with Steve. From day one he communicated with us on a regular basis, asking us questions, making suggestions and answering any questions we had. He has great attention to detail and is skilled at what he does. I look forward to recommending Steve to anyone that is looking for a general contractor.

Washroom Expansion to Provide Main-Floor Walk-in Shower

Steve expanded our main floor washroom to include a walk-in shower. The space needed was obtained by taking over an adjoining hall closet. In an innovative move, he expanded the space available to provide a full-size shower by relocating ventilation ductwork out of the former closet area. Steve built a new set of closets in the main hall, to provide even more closet room than we had previously.

The result was beyond our expectations.

Steve's workmanship was excellent in all respects. He took care to keep the work area clean. We found him to be a very pleasant guest in our house

Bath Tub to Walk in Shower Conversion

One of our friends recommended Steve Edan to us as they were happy with the work he did for them. We needed a bath tub to walk in shower conversion. Steve gave us good suggestions and suggested a bath fixture and a tile supplier, both of whom were very helpful. Steve took the time to come with us to help choose all the shower fixtures, he also found a glass shower door on sale and picked it up for us.

He discussed all the issues and made sure that everything was placed as we wanted.

All the work was skillfully and meticulously done. He is very neat and left everything ready to be used.

We would not hesitate to employ Steve again or recommend him to anyone contemplating a home renovation.

Master Shower Floor Repair

Our master shower was leaking and water damaged the living room ceiling. My husband thought it could be fixed with some caulk around the drain but unfortunately that did not work.

I reached out to Steve Edan, who has done work for me before. He came over and assessed the situation. He told me what the most probable cause could be. He did a water test in the shower to confirm that it was the shower floor liner that was leaking. Unfortunately, it was not an easy fix, as the whole floor and some wall tiles needed to be removed. A semi big job! Steve quoted a price and I agreed to have the work done. The floor and sub floor were removed and the new sub floor installed and leveled with the waterproofing and drain. The most difficult part for us was to find a floor tile that would work with our existing wall tiles. Steve did an excellent job of finding a tile that went well with the existing tiles. We actually prefer the new tile to the old one. The re-build went well and came in at the quoted price. Steve even sealed some of the fixtures where the caulk had come off.

We are using the shower every day for almost a month and no leaks!

I count myself lucky to have found Steve. I find him to be very honest trustworthy and his work is of a high standard. I most definitely will call Steve again for any future projects big or small.

Bathroom Renovation

Hey Steve: Just got home after a nice evening out for supper.......and came upstairs to look at your handiwork...in both Ellen's an my washroom/shower......they are both beautiful...it would be 'a shame' to use them because I don't really want to mess up your artistry....I think I'll leave mine for a day or so to keep looking at it. I am really pleased with what you did. Once again, Steve, thank you very, very much....and Ellen, Waffles and I are going to miss you as round here...but as I said that o you we would love for you to do some smaller jobs in between your other projects...and I have started a list some of which you already know. But, again, all to say, thanks again for a great job.
See you on Wednesday when you come by to finish a couple of things and remove your equipment.

Handyman services

I have had Steve doing many of the plumbing, electrical and other handyman duties in all of my rental properties and at my family residence. He has an excellent knowledge and is very efficient. His rates are definitely very low compared to some of the others I had in the past.

I've recommended him to my friends and I still use him for these type of work.

He is also able to handle bigger projects like complete kitchen/bathroom renovations

You'll get a solid quality of work for a reasonable price!

General Contracting

I have now used Steve on three projects. At my home we renovated our family room including the replacement of the dated original fireplace. At my older sisters home we completely renovated the main floor of the house including removal of walls and installation of a new kitchen. At my younger sisters cabin we restored damaged walls, weak foundations, insulation and interior finish.

Through all this work Steve was prompt, willing, very hard working and easy to get along with.

I can definitely recommend Steve very highly for any renovation work you need, large or small project. Most important, Steve knows when to call for help or say he shouldn't do something.

Bathroom renovation

We were planning to renovate our main bathroom this year and had Steve give us a quote last summer when he did some work for us outside around our house (leaky eavestrough and flagstone repair). When we decided to move forward in January I called Steve to come over to update his quote, which he did and at the same time gave us some ideas as well as direct us to where we could buy tiles, fixtures etc.

Once he started the job it became quite obvious from the demolition stage right on through hanging up the artwork that he is very meticulous and takes pride in his work. This is evident in the end result and we couldn't be happier with it.
Steve proved to be very knowledgeable and he will definitely be the first person I contact with any work or repairs we may want to do in the future.

Repaired Backsplash

Steve came to my rescue yet a second time. He fixed a botched backsplash job done by a dishonest and incompetent contractor. I wish I had hired him from the beginning. I will only utilize his services from now on.

Basement Restoration

"Communication and quality are the keys to a job well done."

I write this with high regards and recommendation of Edan Home Repair and Contracting. Last August 2013 I had sewage back up in my basement, my laundry room and bathroom were affected. The drywall, wood studs and tiling were ruined and had to be replaced. I was extremely upset and was very fearful of having to deal with contractors. My insurance company initially sent in a company to do the initial cleanup and demolition. When this was completed, they told me that they will be back in 8-10 months to repair the drywall and paint as well as replacing the flooring. This was unacceptable as my sister was staying in the basement and it would be a great inconvenience to her. In the meantime the plumber that came to do some work, recommended that I call Steve Edan owner of Edan Home Repair and Contracting . Steve showed up promptly and we discussed what needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable about the renovations and restoration that needed to be done. Steve went the extra mile helping me to make the best choices for my laundry room and bathroom repairs. He even met with me at Home Depot to help me pick tiles! Steve is very adept in striking a balance between allowing me the freedom to make my own choices and offering recommendations when necessary . Through his expertise, punctuality, communication and friendly demeanor I am no longer fearful of contractors. I have gained an impeccable home repair company whom I would call for any project on my home. I even asked Steve to quote me on painting my living and dining room. Once again I thank you for demystifying my fear of contractors and making my home repair experience stress free. Forever grateful.
